"JIHAD SELFIES: THESE BRITISH EXTREMISTS IN SYRIA LOVE SOCIAL MEDIA"

Revisiting this Vice piece....after some recent stuff about Syria that I'm not going to link because no one wants to see a severed head on instagram rite?

Syria gives me a tooth ache, I think of Easter laying out rocks in the graveyard with my mother as a tribute to the dead...second hand trauma shared on well meaning friends Facebook pages and that video of a guy eating a human heart which made everyone go 'wow'.

I'm tired of everything.

I'm tired of Syria.

PICTURE TIME.

And yeah um that was a photo essay about Syria told thru pictures of Gremlins.

Idk u guys...

My emotional range is limited. I have two settings: sleepy and suicidal.

tw: gore, suicide, food

Grapefruit

My piece for Rookie went up on Monday, it was scary to write but people seem to like it, I think (I hope?) I did the missing step, stomach drop, unknown thing, when it went up. But I kept on reminding myself that "some of us are brave". I am trying to be brave. But mostly I'm just hungry or sleepy.I don't have all that many words left but I have picture words if that helps?
